Modou Bah, a driver was on Thursday arraigned before a Magistrates Court in Brikama charged with negligence, causing the death of 33-year-old Babucarr Camara.
When the charge was read to him, Bah pleaded not guilty.
Police prosecutor Y Njie told the court that the accused drove a motor vehicle in a negligent manner which caused the death of Babucarr Camara in Foni Bondali, West Coast Region.
The accused, who was not represented by a lawyer, was offered to apply for bail but he did not state any reasons that can convince the court to grant him bail, only saying that it is not his intention to kill.
The trial Magistrate Peter Che ordered for him to be remanded.
Hearing resumes 27 June.
