Gambia’s reggae dancehall heartthrob, ENC, has spoken of his upcoming album set for release this summer.
The album, which was put together at his Worldvibes Records, is highly anticipated by his fans in the country. Titled Victory, the album is expected to contain between 12 to 14 songs.
Born Essa Colley but widely known by his stage moniker ENC, the young man is indisputably one of The Gambia’s leading influencers in the dancehall genre. Within a short space of time he proved to the world what he had to offer.
“I featured artistes like ST, Gee, Bai Babu, Big Faa, A2, Limbo and Ishawna (Jamaican) in this album. This is my first official album. All my many other projects were mixtapes and compilations. This album is special to me for the fact that I am putting a roundup of my long experience I have in the business, ranging from different sounds and genres,” ENC told Standard Lite on Tuesday.
He added: “I have worked with a wide range of producers from different parts of the world. This album will take the listeners through a journey that you can only tell after listening to all the songs”.
On the state of Gambian music, he quipped: “The music industry is moving. Though, it’s a frowning process [sic], I want to tell my fans to keep following and supporting as usual, they are doing the right thing.”
