GACH CEO receives Africa’s patriotic, philanthropic personality award

The CEO of GACH Global Abubakary Jawara is the recipient of the prestigious LEADS Africa’s Patriotic & Philanthropic Personality award. LEADS Africa is a Pan-African Student Organisation comprising all democratically elected students’ union bodies in Africa with its secretariat in Nigeria. The organisation’s objective is to create platforms for capacity building, peer review and networking amongst student leaders across Africa. It says Mr Jawara has been awarded in recognition of his commitments to Africa’s quest for development. Mr Jawara was given the award at a local hotel in Kololi on Saturday.  Presenting the award to Mr Jawara, the president of LEADS Africa, who also doubles as head of the visiting team from Nigeria, Osisougu Osikeyi, stated that part of their visit in Banjul was to particularly extoll the genuine philanthropist commitment of Abubakary Jawara towards the advancement of Africa especially in the areas of academic. Mr Osisougu referred to Mr Jawara as a beacon of hope for Africa.

“We wish to call on Mr Jawara to set up an institutional structure for his numerous philanthropic gestures under the auspices of the proposed “Abubakary Jawara Foundation – Africa” to continue to drive the corporate social responsibility arm of GACH Global Conglomerates,” he added.

Speaking shortly after receiving the award, the GACH CEO Abubakary Jawara expressed gratitude to LEADS Africa for recognising his efforts saying it will serve as motivation for him to do more. He thanked his brother the Gambian consul in Angola Haji Jawara for showing him the way to success.
