Unveiling the magnificent hotel complex at a press briefing held at the lawn of the plush new hotel, General Manager Greg Woodside revealed what he described as “the first Flourish unit in The Gambia offering innovative services and facilities to satisfy the modern taste and pleasures in tourism”.
“Flourish,” he said, “is a group which bases all its operations on wellness and we have built this hotel on the beach front to give the people all the best and lovely views under this good Gambian climate as well as the best international chefs to provide varied cuisines including Nigerian, and even Arab food with Asian twist to it.”
The general manger further described facilities in the hotel as “top class” with fully-furnished, air-conditioned building units with user-friendly stairs.
“As part of our corporate responsibility,” he went on, “we have built a tar road from the Calabash junction to our hotel which we hope will be extended to other hotels and businesses beyond. We called this road ‘The Golden Mile’ and it will have signboards rooted right at the beginning of road stretching of all hotels and businesses on this Golden Mile not just ours,” he noted.
Mr Woodside further said alongside wooing for the normal tourists from Europe, Flourish Resort will also explore African tourist markets like Nigeria.
The general manager led the press on a conducted tour of one of the units which has its furniture almost entirely made of Gambian raw materials.
Mr Woodside announced the imminent arrival in The Gambia of celebrities including the former Nigerian international footballer Nwankwo Kanu who will serve as ambassador to the Hotel.
