The Gambia Action Party has appointed Jalal Camara as their new leader after the ‘removal’ of Musa Batchilly a few weeks ago.
A statement signed by Muhammed Yaffa reads: “The Gambia Action Party’s National Executive Committee Members have unanimously agreed to appoint Camara as the Secretary General and Party Leader of GAP until Congress. This decision came as a result of leadership vacuum in the party following the dismissal of its former leader.”
The party paid tribute to the new leader, saying it expects responsible, dedication, determination and influential leadership from him in conformity with the constitution of the party.
