A law suit filed by residents of Gunjur against Golden Lead Fish Meal Processing Company has now reached the High Court in Banjul.
The case was yesterday brought before Justice Amina Saho-Ceesay for mentioning but was adjourned to August 26, after parties have announced their representation.
The company is represented by lawyer Lamin S Camara.
In June, National Environment Agency dragged the company to court over alleged violations of environment rules and regulations within the eco-system in Gunjur town, West Coast Region.
The law suit came after environmental activists and some residents of Kartong and Gunjur accused the company of disposing suspected toxic waste into the sea via pipes, resulting in the washing ashore of dead fish along the coastline.
The company however denied any wrongdoing.
