By Maimuna Sey-Jawo The Gambia Public Procurement Authority and Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with EU support to the implementation of the procurement reform in The Gambia, recently organized a day long training on public procurement new Act for small and medium enterprises. The training that brought together more than twenty five participants was held at EMPRETEC Office in Bakau Newtown. Speaking at the training Hamat Bah a staff of GIEPA said the training is timely and important for most small businesses, who don’t know public procurement and they have not been participating in public procurement. Bah said it is vital for a small and medium enterprise to know how to fill bidding documents, know how to present their bidding and also how to go about requirement for evaluation criteria. He added that their expectation is that at the end of the training all the participants should be able to have a better understanding of the main objectives of this training and filter the information to the grass root small and medium enterprises.
