Headteacher urges gov’t to fumigate kindergartens across the country

Mrs Hawa Sanneh, the headteacher of Kindergarten Wattenscheid Nursery School in Brikama Kabafita has called on the government through the Ministry of Health to fumigate all nursery schools across the country in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

Mrs Sanneh made this call during a presentation ceremony held at the school on 13th September where rice and cooking oil were given as Covid-19 relief to families of the pupils.

Mrs Sanneh expressed her appreciation to the sponsors of Kindergarten Wattenscheid school in Germany for their “timely intervention in giving this assistance to the families during this difficult time”.

She disclosed that families of 480 pupils of the school benefited from the assistance with 96 bags of rice and 120 cartons of 5 litre gallons of cooking oil.

She pointed out that the donor deemed it necessary to compliment government’s effort in assisting the parents of the wards during this period.

The veteran educator called on the government through the Ministry of Health to fumigate the school and all other nursery schools across the country.

Senior teacher Pa Ayi Sanneh concurred that the donation was timely considering the general hardship brought about by the flu pandemic.

“Some of these parents engage in petty trading, and because of the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown, some of them find it difficult to eke out a living,” he stated.
