My name is Jainaba Sawaneh. I am 17 years old and live in Kanifing .I am a student of Imam Malick Islamic School, reading both Quran and English. I was crowned as the winner of Miss Soninkara in 2013 where I portrayed an authentic Serahule cultural outfit. Through that competition I was able to change the life of many young people to appreciate their culture because I believe as young people we should revisit and appreciate our rich cultural values.
My role model is my mother because she has nurtured me to be who I am today by teaching me many good things in life .I am advocate for the rights of children with specific attention on early and forced marriage by using the social media to create more awareness.
My philosophy is ‘learn and teach others to enhance development’ .I like trustworthy people who make it possible for justice to prevail at all times .My wish is to see a world fit for all children to live free from discrimination, torture and hard labour.
