The Chairman of the Committee and National Assembly Member for Foni Kansala, Hon. Musa Amul Nyassi has admonished the KMC Mayor and other officials for their failure to appear before the National Assembly Select Committee last Monday when their report was due for consideration.
“Once again we can recall when they came here last Wednesday, we had to defer them because of missing documents which are very important and key to our work. As a result we had to defer them to Thursday,” he stated. According to him, the KMC management did turn up and present their report and Monday 30t July supposed to be the consideration day.
“But again we cannot proceed because the KMC management is not showing commitment, or respect for the work they are doing and now it means that they could only come after the ‘recess’. But we will ask the Office of the Clerk to send a very strong message to the management of KMC for them to know that this is the last time we are going to accept this from them. This is totally unacceptable.”
Nyassi said there is no excuse and the KMC management must appear by the next seating. “I want to put it on record that we want to see the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Finance Director and the Lord Mayor himself, not a representative of theirs,” he concluded.
