Baba Fatajo, the managing director of the national utilities company, Nawec, has been sacked from June 28, official sources told The Standard.

Our source further said Mr Fatajo has been replaced by one Alpha Robinson.

However, a statement from State House yesterday said Mr Fatojo has been appointed into the Foreign Service as a diplomat.

But this was refuted by sources close to Mr Fatajo who told The Standard the former MD’s termination letter did not specifically say he was going to the Foreign Service.

“It only stated he would be employed into public service,” our source said.
Meanwhile it appears the decision to remove Mr Fatajo is not popular among some members of the Nawec staff.

Last night The Standard confirmed that Momodou E Bah, the vice chairman of the board has tendered his resignation in protest at Mr Fatajo’s sacking.
