“On Wednesday 8 April 2020, all the guards and soldiers on duties at the Defence Headquarters on the night of the ‘break-in and theft’ were arrested and detained by the military police. All the soldiers are in ‘open custody’ meaning that they are detained but allowed limited freedoms pending the conclusion of investigations by the GAF,” said PRO Sanyang.

The PRO said the soldiers are presently in the custody of the military police helping them in their investigations.
“The army is not taking this and the leak memo last week lightly and the full force of the armed forces Act would be invoked on anyone who is found wanting,” he added.
The theft happened at the office of Major Cherno Jobe, whose job at GAF includes the issuance of fuel coupons to the force.
