30 US doctors arrive for free medical service

The Minister of Health Lamin Samateh accompanied by Information minister Ebrima Sillah and Government Spokesman Ebrima Sankareh on Friday welcomed 30 doctors from Global Heath Outreach in the USA.
The doctors are guest of Calvary United Community Church led by Reverend Bidwell Mendy and will spent five days giving free medical service to communities in the Greater Banjul Area.

The three government offcials welcomed the doctors and described their visit as a demonstration of the excellent relations between The Gambia and the USA since the emergence of the new Gambia. Reverend Bidwell whose connections facilitated the trip thanked the team leb by Dr Frank and called on Gambians to make good use of their trip, since it is rare opportunity.

The team will start work today and tomorrow with free clinic at Marakissa Village, Kombo Central from 8:30 to 4: 00pm; Sukuta Lower Basic School, 10 to 11 April, 8:30 am to 4:00pm; New Life Children Centre, Kanifing South, behind Family Planning, 12 April, 8:30am to12: 00pm. According to Rev. Mendy the team is in The Gambia especially to help the country and people from these communities targeted under the programme should make good use of their visit. Global Health Outreach GHO is a short-term international missions program dedicated to providing healthcare by sending medical, dental and surgical teams around the world.
