9th Briks-Tone Fiesta slated

Growing bigger and better each year, the 9th edition of the Briks-Tone Fiesta is slated for 16 and 17 February at Brikama Youth Centre and Brikama Jokor respectively.
Organised by Badinyaa One Family Promotions in collaboration with its partners, the annual music and cultural fest was first staged some years ago by Sulayman M Sanyang aka Marshal Telisman, a music promoter based in Scotland, who doubles as the CEO of Bandinyaa One Family.

The event is anchored on the popular adage ‘a healthy nation is a wealthy nation’, as the proceeds from the initiative are ploughed back to the Brikama Major Health Facility
Over the years, the event has recorded numerous gains and evolved into an international festival, attracting international acts. Listed among The Gambia’s biggest music and cultural festivals and according to organisers, the lineup of exciting features encompassing all kinds of music and cultures such as traditional, reggae, kora and rap are in store for this year.

The two-day event will start from Friday 16 February at Brikama Youth Centre with a cultural dance/activities and Saturday 17 February all-white party at Brikama Jokor.
“The aims of the event are to promote Brikama as a regenerated town, to celebrate Gambia’s national heritage and culture, to uplift and promote Gambian culture as well as to give platform to local and international Gambian artiste on one stage.”

The event is also designed to create entrance for local and international acts to international promoters and producers as well as to serve as a source of tourist attraction to The Gambia.
Artistes expected to perform at this year’s event are, Pa Bobo Jobarteh & The Touba Kaira Band, Jali Kebba and Sutura Band, ST, ENC, Bala Ranks, Badibunka, T-Small, Nat Eazy aka Sundjata. Also performing are international acts, Reson8 from Jamaica, Freedom International Cultural Group, Magic Tuts from Switzerland and Silver Mountain From UK just to name a few.
