Pipeline Youths Association, a newly formed association, is taking upon itself to fight the specter of tribalism in the country.

The new association is growing in membership since its formation recently with their eyes fixed on fighting tribal traits and reuniting Gambians after a difficult era.
Speaking in an interview with The Standard, the President of the association, Momodou Kambia, said they have a Facebook page called the ‘Gambia Unity Movement’ and the organization was founded after the political impasse.

“We have seen so many things that have been going in the country dividing us for no reason. We the young people of this country have decided to come up with this idea of fighting against tribalism in the country in order to make the Gambia a peaceful country as the name implies, the Smiling Coast of Africa,” he said.
“Our targets are the young people especially the school going children, government workers and others in the private sectors because most of our parents are not educated,” he added.
He said their doors are always open to anyone who is willing to work with them.
He advised young people to be mindful of the divisive tactics of politicians.
