Two former world champions got quick wins on Friday night at MotoSpace in Dubai, U.A.E.
Two-weight world champion Badou Jack “The Ripper” moved up to cruiserweight and smoked Maryland boxer Samuel Crossed in two rounds. Jack dropped Crossed three times in round two to end it. Time was 2:20.
Meanwhile former super-middleweight world champion Rocky “From Stocky” Fielding returned to light heavyweight after two years out with a second round TKO over Emmanuel Danso Fielding dropped Danso in round two and Danso didn’t come out for round three.
Also, Flyweight Muhammad Waseem claimed the WBC silver title with a hard fought twelve round unanimous decision over Rober Barrera. Scores were 115-113, 115-114, 117-111.
In a bout that was announced as a WBA super lightweight eliminator, Golden Contract winner Ohara Davies outworked late sub-Nicholas Mwangi over ten workmanlike rounds. Scores were 99-91 3x. Davies was originally slated to face Ismael Barroso for the WBA gold title, but Barroso couldn’t get into the country.
