BAJO RE-ELECTED GFF PRESIDENT

Lamin Kaba Bajo has been re-elected President of the Gambia Football Federation for another four years after he won a landslide victory against his opponent Malick NK Sillah over the weekend in GFF election held at the Paradise Suites Hotel in Kololi.
Kaba polled 63 votes as against Malick who pulled out 20 hours before the polls and received 2 votes.
In his victory statement, President Bajo congratulated and thanked the Chairman of the GFF Electoral Committee Alh Dodou Capi Joof and his Committee for a job well done.
“It’s a continuation from where we stopped in the last four years.
“One of our primary goals is to promote grassroot football.”
Mr Bajo said the GFF super nawettan and the inclusion of regional teams in leagues is a manisfestation of their vision in football decentralization.

According to him, the poor performance of the national team is a great concern to the Executive and “we will do everything to work with the Gambian government to achieve a great height’.
“We also thank our outside partners, GNOC, CAF, WAFU and FIFA. We are calling on the private sector to invest with returns. We are already working with some for sponsorship.”
He said the GFF will continue to upgrade on capacity building programs.

Mr Bajo reminded staff of the Secretariat that there will be no room for tolerance in terms of performance and expectations. “I will not take embarrassment for your failures to execute the work you are paid for.
‘The election is over and I am calling on my brother Malick Sillah and co to come and join us to work for football. Football needs you and I won’t hesitate to call you on board if needed.”
For the position of 3rd Vice President, delegate overwhelming voted in Lang Tombong Tamba with 62 votes against his rival Foday Danjo with1 vote.
