Former army chief General Ousman Bargie has exhorted Gambians to be proud that they have a leader in President Barrow who has the country and its people at heart.
Reacting to the news of his recent appointment as Gambian military attaché to Beijing, Bargie said he welcomed the posting with both hands and said he would accept any appointment, even as a cleaner or janitor, from Barrow.
He said democratic rule has been ushered in the country and people “should put all their political differences aside and focus on national development”.
He said he supported the change of leadership in The Gambia.
“I want to appeal to all Gambians to put all their differences aside and focus on developing the country because The Gambia is bigger than any individual. I thank His Excellency, President Barrow for giving me the opportunity to serve the country.”
