Combined Forces beat Army at Gambia Kiling friendly

A team made of personnel from all security services called the Combined Security Forces on Sunday beat the Gambia Armed Forces team by a goal to nil at a friendly match held at the Independence Stadium.
The match, which was organized by ‘GAMBIA KILING’, (One Gambia), in partnership with the Joint Operation Center (JOC), was meant to recognize the efforts of the security forces in maintaining peace in the country. The match was attended by many senior officials of the Gambia Armed Forces including the Chief of the Defence Staff Lieutenant General Masanneh N Kinteh.

The Combined Security Forces led by the Inspector General of the Gambia Armed Forces Brigadier General Alhagie Martin scored the only goal of the match in the early minutes, courtesy of Lamin Ceesay from the police. The team comprised the Fire Services, State Intelligence Services, the Gambia Police Force, Drug Law Enforcement Agency, The Gambia Immigration Department and the Gambia Prisons Services.

‘GAMBIA KILING’, is a peace advocacy organization established with the aim of sensitizing Gambians about the importance of unity and oneness in the country. ”We will continue this partnership with Joint Operation’s Center (JOC), so that they can help us implement some of our projects in the near future, the Chairman ‘Gambia Kiling’ Momodou Salieu Jallow aka DJ Bombastic told Standard Newspaper. “We really need to appreciate the work of the security forces, because no country can develop without peace,” Jallow noted.
Speaking at the match, the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Masanneh N Kinteh, thanked the officials of Gambia Kiling for forming such an organization. CDS Kinteh revealed that these types of events will help to clear the misconception of the citizens’ relationship with Gambia’s Security Forces.

On his part the Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), who was the chief guest of honor Alhagie Alieu Momarr Njai commended the official of Gambia KILING for coming up with such an initiative considering that the coming of the local government elections.
