The deputy governor of CRR, Lamin R. Darboe has passed away. His death was announced yesterday reportedly after a short illness over the weekend.
Thousands of Gambians who knew him took to social media to express shock over the sad news. President Barrow quoted by State House Facebook page described his death as a sad day for me.”
“The demise of ‘R. Darboe’ as his close associates fondly called him, is a great loss to his family as well as the entire Nation. He would be remembered for his political engagement to advance democracy in the country. He worked hard in serving humanity, to leave a legacy in his community and the nation at large. In recent years he took up an administrative role as Deputy Governor to nurture the democratic change and support the reform processes,” the president said.
