The secretary general of the Gambia Federation of the Disable, Lamin Manneh has praised the media for standing with them in the campaign for the passing of the disability bill.
Speaking to The Standard, Mr Manneh said without the media the campaign would not haven been successful.
“I sincerely thank the journalists and the entire media fraternity for their solidarity and dissemination of information on the issues of persons with disability,” he said.
Manneh however urged the media to continue in the fight to advocate for the enforcement of the law which he said is very important because anybody can be disabled in one way or the other.
“The new challenge is to ensure that with the passing of the bill disabled people will no longer be marginalised, segregated or neglected in the society,” he said.
