Doku Group Ltd, an engineering company in the country recently donated D10,000 including dozens of T-Shirts on which Covid-19 messages are embedded to the people of Gunjur.
The CEO of Doku group, award-winning engineer Gallo Siady, presented the cheque and T-shirts to the alkalo of Gunjur.
The money will be used to purchase sanitary and other items necessary in the fight against Covid-19.
Receiving the items at his residence in the Kombo South District of Gunjur, alkalo Alhaji Gike Darboe thanked Doku Group for the gesture.
He said the assistance came at a time when his people and the entire country look for ways and means to stay safe and healthy, albeit Covid-19.
He called on others to emulate Doku and Mr Gallo Saidy by reaching out to assist communities in these trying times.
Mr Gallo then enjoined the people of Gunjur to adhere to the preventive measures set aside by the WHO in order to avoid contracting the killer-disease, which has claimed thousands of lives since the outbreak in December He told them to “put health before humanity” and to at all times observe social distancing.
“Do regular hand-washing, report any Covid-19 symptoms by dialing 1025 and, stay at home to avoid possible infection,” the Sukuta-Sabiji engineer, counselled.
