The Educational Research Network for West and Central Africa in The Gambia on Saturday launched its six-phase research programme to mentor young researchers.
Twenty-five participants were drawn from higher and basic education ministries, including tertiary institutions like the GTTI, MDI and the Gambia College.
Speaking at the programme, Mr Ebrima Njie, national coordinator, ERNWCA The Gambia, said: “Our main function is to offer educational research and capacity building for young researchers to enable them conduct proper research and come up with solutions.”
Mr Njie said that they normally conduct workshops inviting students from tertiary institutions but due to financial constraints they have had to halt that.
Mr Wasiu Olabanji Adebayo, the financial secretary of the organisation welcomed the participants.
