A lawyer representing one Alpha Jallow, a murder suspect who absconded from the Mile 2 Prisons, has informed the court that he is withdrawing from the case.

Lawyer LK Mboge made this declaration yesterday before justice AT Osei at the Kanifing High Court where his client Alpha and five suspects are being tried for murder. Following his appeal, the judge granted Lawyer Mboge’s wishes to withdraw from the case.

Alpha Jallow was part of eight prisoners who reportedly escaped from Mile 2 in September this year.

He is accused alongside John Dallia, Solomon Mendy, Yaya Mboge, Baboucarr Jah, and Gbril Mbowe.

The men, aged between 19 and 25, are accused of murdering one Alagie Bojang on the 8th of October 2019 at Bakoteh Housing Estate by stabbing and beating him, leading to his death at the Serekunda Hospital. All accused persons pleaded not guilty.
