With Patience Loum

This year’s Fashion Weekend Gambia was epic!
From the whole setup, (the displays, market stall to the entertainment and the show itself) it was clearly apparent that the team put great thought and effort into what we witnessed this weekend.

Honestly Gambians have embraced this brand whole heartedly; a permanent fixture in the entertainment calendar; a must-go-must-see event.
The Brand keeps getting bigger and better and now it’s this big umbrella encouraging talent by using its platform to promote our young and upcoming designers, models, and local manufacturers. They have indeed revolutionized the Fashion and modeling industry in the Gambia whom on extension have crossed boundaries. Well Hello world!
And this year the organizers gave the extras and my god did they fulfill their promises?! It was a Fashion show with a difference. From the start of the show to the end, everything was just…wow.

I can’t still decide if my favorite part of the two-day show was the Zimbas and Mama Paras or the comedian or even the performance by Flex Fusion; or wait, the Kunta Kinteh themed designs.

Well apart from the local designers, others came from the sub-region Senegal, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Nigeria as well as designers from the UK, Denmark and France. A marketplace with small business owners including ‘Yaxare’, Tiga, Ansu Bee’s, Maimuna’s Skincare, and so many more, showcased their products.

Designers from this year’s show included Style with Tee, House of Nabiaaa (UK), H and K, Shine Gambia (Denmark), SND Designs (Nigeria), Ziza Creation, Badjiz designs, MSHiCoor (France), Anzy’s, Monique ( Senegal), Faramareen (Senegal), Racime Ly Creation (Guinea Conakry), Lizmond Glamour, Fashion Cante (Guineas Bissau), and lastly Medoune Designs.
