The First Lady Mrs Fatoumatta Bah Barrow on Sunday visited the Trade Fair at the Independence Stadium as part of her campaign to promote women empowerment and to support women involved in small and medium enterprise (SME).

Madame Barrow visited various stalls at the Trade Fair including agricultural stalls sponsored by FASDEP and NEMA which targeted rural women farmers promoting their farming products at the fair. The women farmers are from CRR and LRR.

Speaking to the press, the First Lady said she was delighted to see the large turnout of women entrepreneurs at the trade fair, which proved that women are the backbone of the economy and that the Gambian women are really hardworking.
