First tourist flight due Monday

The first batch of tourists in the new season is expected to arrive at the Banjul airport on Corendon Airline from Holland on Monday 9 October, the director of marketing at the Gambia Tourism Board Adama Njie revealed yesterday.
Njie who was speaking in an interview with The Standard said the signs are looking very good for a successful season this year.

“We at the GTB have been working hard formulating plans and policies to boost the number of arrivals through breaking new destinations and rendering more competitive products and services,” he said.
Last year’s tourism season was stained with uncertainties as the political impasse hampered the season. Despite this an estimated 161 thousand visitors arrived in the country
