GAMBA AT CAF WOMEN’s FOOTBALL CONFAB

Officials of the Gambia Football Federation led by President Lamin Kaba Bajo were among hundreds of other deletes from across the continent who attended the first ever Caf Women’s Football Symposium in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.

The two-day gathered stakeholders from different walks of life all under the theme ‘raising our game’ and is expected to chart a new course for the development of women’s football on the continent.
The historic seminar according to CAF is also meant to define the future of the women’s game as various stakeholders discuss, exchange ideas and knowledge towards raising the standard of the beautiful game.
Each member association is represented by three delegates made up of president, General Secretary and Head of Women’s Football, to discuss diverse topics expected to put women’s football in Africa on the global map.

Representatives from former and current players, referees, coaches, media, as well as experts from fifa and other Confederations were all at the historic event.
The General Secretary of FIFA Fatma Samoura is among the guests hosted by the Caf President Ahmed Ahmed.

His Majesty the King of Morocco Muhammed VI,was in attendance and received special word of grattidue from the Caf President for the financial assistance granted to CAF during the past year. According to Ahmed, the objective of the symposium is a ‘new take off’ premise on the successes and development of women’s football on the continent.

Earlier on Sunday, participants were hosted to a dinner where the Gambian officials met with a number of their counterparts on the fringes of the night’s event to discuss matters of common interest
The Gambia is represented at the Seminar by President Lamin Kaba Bajo, General Secretary Lamin M Jassey and Executive member and Chairperson Women’s Football Committee Ms Sainabou Cham.
