Former Kombo North NAM, Musa Suso has said that President Adama Barrow’s administration is the toughest and most challenging compared to his predecessor’s in terms of demands of Gambians.
He said Barrow’s presidency is made more difficult in the sense that even those who voted him into office are putting him under pressure to deliver on his campaign promises as opposed to Jammeh who few dared challenge.

“The problems President Barrow is facing today even Yahya Jammeh never faced such problems,” he told The Standard in an exclusive interview recently.
“Because of the freedom of speech and democracy that was restored almost immediately he took office, Barrow is receiving criticism from both those who voted for him and his opponents alike. Every Gambian is pushing for him to deliver,” Mr Suso said.

He said in the case of Jammeh, it was almost impossible for even his legitimate opponents to have the guts to challenge him to deliver, talk less of his supporters.
“Whatever Barrow do people will have something to say about it but during Jammehs’ regime, very few dared to counter or even advise him?” he said

Speaking further, Mr Suso called on the UDP supporters to open their arms and embrace all Gambians irrespective of party affiliation because they are the biggest political party in the country.
He also said people should forget the past and move on in the interest of reconciliation.
“We should not try to judge people by their past because if we do we will be making a mistake,” he stated.
He said what happened in The Gambia may be very painful but it is relatively peaceful compared to Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ghana or even Nigeria, which are all in West Africa, but they were able to reconcile.

Mr Suso thanked all those who turned out to listen to the president during his Meet the People Tour as well as who contributed to the success of the tour, singling out Alagie Conteh and his people for their good work.
