The championship which took three days to complete was one of the Gambian’s best outings since he and other Gambian athletes arrived at Diaraf club under an arrangement by the Gambia Athletics Association, GAA, who exported top athletes to Diaraf for training before the repair works on the tracks at the Independence Stadium are ready.
He told The Standard in an email: “I thank God for giving me the life and the ability. I also thank President Jammeh, my federation, the GAA, Diaraf Athletics Club of Dakar and my coach.”
The Gambian sprinter said he was grateful to his Gambian team mates, family and the Gambia Prisons Service for supporting him to excel in athletics.
