Retired Major Alieu Sowe, the candidate of the Gambia Action Party, has said if elected he would give a 72-hour-deadline outside formal protocols to send out foreign troops from The Gambia.
Sowe told journalists at Election House yesterday that he believes in security but only when it is done properly. He also confirmed that his party has suspended founder and leader, Musa Yali Batchilly, pending a possible impeachment. He did not elaborate but the decision came after Batchilly declared he has endorsed President Adama Barrow. The rest of the party’s executive members said they are not going into any alliance with any party. Mr Batchilly said he had taken the decision in his individual capacity and at no time did he mention GAP as part of the decision.
