Officials of the Gambia Football Federation and state broadcaster GRTS have agreed to open a new relationship at a meeting held at the state broadcaster’s Head Office in Kanifing on Friday February 15.
This meeting according to GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo is sequel to two successive interfaces with the former management of GRTS where the GFF earlier on laid down plans for a working relationship in order to boost publicity in the promotion of the GFF domestic league matches and other activities of the federation for a wider viewing.
According to Bajo, GFF has made a comeback to renew commitment for a desire to partner for the mutual benefit of the two entities. “GRTS is a potential partner for the promotion of our game and hence you have a wide platform to make the product visible.”
The GFF 3rd Vice President Lang Tombong Tamba and Marketing Committee member Musa Sise attended the meeting too and both have urged the GRTS to play their role in the promotion of the Gambian game.
The Director General of GRTS Abdou Touray said the partnership with the GFF has been long standing and the meeting is meant to further cement that relationship in terms of what each of them is expected to do as partners. He cited GRTS’s operational hitches in terms of logistics as a nightmare for the state broadcaster, which hampers its desire to provide national coverage to all national activities.
The meeting agreed for both GFF and GRTS to form a technical working group that would come up with plans and modalities to actualize the partnership.
