Acting in accordance with Article 65.1 of the GFF constitution which states: “The GFF, its Members, Players, Officials, and Match and Player Agents shall not take any dispute to the ordinary courts unless specifically provided for in these Statutes and FIFA regulations. Any disagreement may be submitted to the jurisdiction of GFF, FIFA, CAF, or WAFU” and Article 65.3, which states: “A Member of the GFF who or that violates this provision shall be suspended from the GFF pending the withdrawal of the matter before the courts. If the matter is not withdrawn from the court before judgement is delivered, the member shall be expelled from the GFF, The Gambia Football Federation yesterday announced it has suspended the 5 members of the Malick Sillah camp who filed a court injunction against the GFF and the holding of elections on August 18. The five are Essa Jallow, Star Njie, Kaba Ceesay, Mariama Jobarteh amd Ismaila Jawara who claimed the decision to disqualify them from contesting the August 18 was not based on the GFF laws among other things.
Meanwhile the court case resumes at the high court at 3 PM today.
