By Maimuna Sey-Jawo The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Public Utility Regulatory Authority (PURA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the GRA offices in Banjul. It aims to bring the two institutions closer to work together particularly in the areas of compliance enforcement, policy formulation and regulation. Speaking at the signing, the Commissioner General of GRA, Yankuba Darboe, said MOU was long overdue, saying the work of Pura and GRA are interrelated as they all need to change a lot of data and that cannot be easily done without the MoU. He said under the MoU, the two institutions will share experiences and organise capacity building trainings. Ansumana Sanneh, the director general of Pura, said his institution over the past years, has been working to build its capacity to fulfill its various mandates, key among them was partnering institutions like GRA to identify areas of cooperation and mutual interests.]]>
