A man has been remanded in Mile 2 Central Prisons after appearing in court charged with the murder of one Lamin Darboe, an ex-military officer who was killed while doing ablution.
Bubacarr Darboe 26, appeared at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court on a single charge of murder. He is accused of causing the death of Lamin Darboe with malice aforethought by hitting him with a cement block on his head. According to prosecutors, the incident took place on 9th January 2022 at Faji Kunda.
However, the accused did not take his plea. The prosecutor in the case applied to have the case transferred to the High Court in Banjul that has jurisdiction to hear the matter.
Meanwhile, the magistrate has ordered for his remand and he is expected to appear at the high court.
