The Mayor of Mbao, a town in Dakar Senegal, has said that his council is committed to assisting the Kanifing Municipal Council in its waste management.
Abdoulaye Pouye said he is currently working on a project to be supported by his friends in France to vigorously invest in KMC to curb its waste disposals.

Speaking to The Standard recently in an exclusive interview at the closing of a two weeks KMC, Mbao jointly-organized youth summer camp, Pouye said his council is determined to assist their Gambian counterparts in the areas of waste management.

He said this support will not only stop at KMC but to other parts in the Greater Banjul Area.
“I am aware of the fact that waste management is a problem in the Gambia. I want to assure my friend Mayor Colley and the Gambian people that I will do all I can in my capacity to assist the country in its waste management,” he said.

Adding: “My friends from France are only engaged in waste management, and I want to say that they are very reliable. They have already contacted me to bring them to Banjul, which will happen very soon.”
