The Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure has announced ambitious plans to construct 400km roads across all regions of the country.
Opposed to the conventional unpaved roads, the ministry said it will do this using appropriate pavement technology.
Minister Bai Lamin Jobe disclosed the National Roads Authority, NRA has already built 2 speed bumps within the accident prone areas in Barra/Essau vicinity, and as part of the road safety initiatives, NRA will conduct a thorough assessment of road networks in The Gambia in order to identify strategic locations to build speed bumps.
He said this will “help establish the impact of these structures with regard to the flow of traffic on the truck roads”.
