Scorpions creative winger Mustapha Carayol scored for Nottingham Forest who secured a 2-1 win over Ebou Adams’ Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.
Muzzy kept his cool on his debut to put Forest in control League Cup match, now known as the Carabao Cup at the City Ground.
The Gambia international casually rolled home a 29th-minute penalty after he was tripped by Abu Ogogo.
He featured the entire match for the hosts while Gambian defensive midfielder Ebrima Adams, on-loan from Norwich City, started the match for Shrewsbury but was ejected seven minutes from time.
Elsewhere, Modou Barrow provided an assist in Reading FC’s 2-0 victory over Gillingham in his home debut at the Madejski Stadium.
Barrow, introduced in the 46th minute by coach Jaap Stam, provided an assist for Reading’s second goal in the 86th minute to complete Liam Kelly’s brace.
