Championship club Norwich City have sent out Gambian midfielder Ebrima ‘Ebou’ Adams out on loan League One side Shrewsbury Town,The Standard can report.
Adams, who is sent out on loan until January 2018 and was signed from non-league Dartford FC in February 2016, will be making his second loan move from Carrow Road, having had a brief three-game stint with Braintree Town last season and scoring six in 29 games in total on his return to the Canaries in the last campaign.
Ebou was a key player for Norwich’s under-23s last season and that saw the one-year option in his contract triggered in April, extending his stay until the summer of 2018.

He now has the chance to impress with the Shrews, with Norwich academy manager Richard Money saying: “We think this is Ebou’s best opportunity to get games under his belt in senior football until January. It’s a really good loan – Shrewsbury are a good club and Paul Hurst is a good manager and someone who I know really well.”

The 21-year-old former non-league central midfielder becomes the fifth new face to check into Greenhous Meadow this summer.
Town manager Paul Hurst moved early following last season’s finale to approach Norwich over the youngster’s availability and after watching Adams first-hand drive the young Canaries midfield forward on numerous occasions, he is pleased to land his man.

“He’s a player that’s impressed me in the past. I’ve seen quite a lot of him in the under-23s. I like him because he’s got that drive – you can see it in him. He’s not what maybe some of these (under-23 academy) players get stereotyped with. He stands out for me when I’ve seen him and he wants to fight and scrap as well as being able to play.”

Adams, who was able to give up his job in a TGI Friday’s restaurant after leaving Dartford for Norwich, added: “I’m pleased to be here and glad to sign for a club that has interest in me. I’m looking forward to going with as far with the club as possible. I heard he’s (Hurst) been watching me for quite a while and interested in how I play. I can add that to Shrewsbury and hopefully boost them into a better position. I’m building my foundation and here I am.”

“It’s a good place for young players, I’ve come to Shrewsbury and hopefully I’ll get a chance to experience first team football. It’s a different environment and a different league so I think it’ll be good to get my first team experience here.”
Ebrima Ebou Adams helped Norwich reach two cup semi-finals last season but is yet to make his first team debut at Carrow Road.
