Police public relations officer, Lamin Njie has said that the police are not aware of any decision denying permit to 3 Years Jotna, a group calling on President Adama Barrow to step down in December or face protest.
PRO Njie said he has not received information concerning the rejection. “We don’t want a situation where people will say the police said this and that”, he said giving no further details.
The faction, led by Abdou Njie has applied for permit to go ahead with their planned eight-hour protest beginning from Westfield to State House on 16 December.
The Standard’s enquiries followed a post by one Kaw Yero, who claimed to be the original founder of the 3 Years Jotna group.
Mr Yero has said the police have refused to issue permit to the Njie-led group.
