The death has been announced of Madam Asombi Bojang, mother of former president Yahya Jammeh in Equatorial Guinea where she was with her son who went into exile following the political standoff that hit The Gambia after the December 1, 2016 presidential election.
Not much was known of Madam Bojang before her son, Yahya Jammeh ascended to power.
She came to the limelight when her son became the president and a lot of talk was on in the country about her and her life.
Having died in a foreign land now, it is hoped that arrangements will be made for her to be brought home and interred in The Gambia, so she can join her ancestors in rest.
Death knows no tribe, race, religion, colour or age. It can come to anyone at anytime and no one can escape its jaws. We pray that Allah, the Almighty forgive her and admit her in Jannah.
