Scorpions winger Demba Savage scored twice as record-Finnish champions HJK Helsinki thumped to a 4-0 victory at JJK Jyväskylä on Sunday.
The 29-year-old, whose last goal came in a 2-0 win against IFK Mariehamn in June, opened the floodgates at the Harjun stadion as early as in the 2nd minute when he coiled in a Messi-like shot to give the visitors the lead before extending their lead in the 66th minute with two added goals later on ensuring a win to send HJK to the top of the Veikkausliiga with 49 points after 23 matches.
It was the Gambia international winger’s fourth goal of the campaign while his compatriot Ousman Jallow watched from the touchline.
Elsewhere, Abdoulie ‘Kenny’ Mansally’s goal served as a mere consolation for PS Kemi Kings who suffered a 5-1 home defeat over Macoumba Kandji’s FC Inter Turku.
Ebrima Sohna lasted 20 minutes for VPS in their 1-1 home draw with FC Ilves while former Gambia Ports Authority winger Saloum Faal scored a brace in third-tier side EsPa’s 5-2 loss against FC Viikingit.
