The Gallant Scorpions continue to set the Turkey training camp alight with an emotional but scintillating 1-0 victory over Togo, days after beating Niger 2-0 in this special Afcon preparation programme.
James Gomez, the Under – 20 captain who led his team to the Wafu title and the ill-fated African youth championship, scored the goal against Togo, his first for the national team on his debut. Gomez was among a pack of new lads Coach Tom Saintfiet enlisted into his squad as he experiments with a gallery of players ahead of his final list in December.
‘It feels good to secure two wins in a row in this camp’, Saintfiet who also o once coached Togo told the GFF media.
The man of the moment Gomez said it has always been his dream to play for the national team and he is even more thrilled that it came with a goal.
This evening the Scorpions will take on Kosovo in the final of the three friendly matches arranged for this camp which ends on Sunday.
