Startup Incubator The Gambia (SIG) has revealed it will soon train another cohort of twenty young Gambian entrepreneurs for the next six months.
This is a team of young Gambians driven by passion, positive energy, perseverance and the determination to be the change they want to see.
In a press release sent to this medium, the chief executive officer of startup incubator Gambia Alieu Jallow said: “Amongst a hundred and fifty applicants, sixty were interviewed and twenty finally chosen. They comprise a diverse team of entrepreneurs engaged in the fields of transportation, fashion designing, recycling, real estate development, livestock management, technology and education, touching on the very salient sectors of The Gambia’s economy.
“In the next six months, they will undergo hands-on experience training, have consultancy opportunities and mentorship from prominent businessmen, lawyers, accountants and personalities whose expertise will help nurture their passions and talents.”
He added: “Startup incubator of the Gambia is determined to incorporate the required entrepreneurial skills and mindset necessary for the life and business growth of young Gambians. As a developing economy, The Gambia’s great potential for growth can only be fully harnessed by investing in the aspirations and dreams of the youths.
“Startup incubator of the Gambia over the years has been at the heart of this struggle and young entrepreneurs that passed through the incubator have consequently been registering remarkable results in ways such as more employment generation, profit maximization, business expansion, smart business strategy development and increased management and leadership developing economy, The Gambia’s great potential for growth can only be fully harnessed by investing in the aspirations and dreams of the youths.”
