Scorpions winger Bubacarr Trawally scored his first Chinese league goal of the season in Yanbian’s 3-1 loss at Tianjin Teda at the weekend.
Steve fired in an 84th minute penalty which was little too late for Yanbian, who had already gone behind to extend their winless streak to six.
The former Real de Banjul and Hangzhou Greentown forward expressed mixed feelings after the match, writing on social media: “Pleased to have finally registered my first goal for the campaign but SAD with the 3-1 loss to Tianjin Teda! Thanks to the Yanbian Funde fans for their amazing support – Hopefully get to please you all with a WIN soon!”
Yanbian are currently placed in the relegation zone on the 16-team Chinese Super League table with two points. They will hope to secure their first win of the season when they host Changchun Yatai on Saturday at the 30,000 capacity Yanji Nationwide Fitness Centre Stadium.
