The opening match is regarded among officials of the Super Nawettan Organising Committee (SOC) as a selling point for this years’ programme which is expected to be one of the best organised tournaments in history. To achieve this, SOC officials have agreed among themselves to tighten the regulations on violence by adopting severe punishments for offending zones and individuals without discrimination as well as insisting on quality refereeing.
Henceforth any zone found to incite violence would be banned from organising nawettan in its zone for three years as well as a five-year ban from the Super Nawettan. Individual fans, officials and members of the general public guilty of similar acts would face similar punishments.
Meanwhile, yesterday the Super Nawettan sponsor Premier Games presented the sponsorship money and other materials to the GFF for onward transmission to the SOC.
