The 11th edition of the annual Trade Fair Gambia International started last Saturday at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
The annual event attracts lots of business operators in and around the country to come under one umbrella and sell their products and services.
Organisers, the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry called for a press briefing last Saturday at its head office in Kerr Jula in Bijilo.
It was designed to inform the media on the dynamics of this year’s event and what it can offer the public.
Speaking at the briefing, the Director of Corporate Services GCCI Madam Beatrice A. Mboge, gave a recap of their preparedness.
“This is the 11th Edition of the Fair and our guest country for this year’s fair is Senegal. Last year we recorded up to 40, 000 visitors and this year we have registered 200 exhibitions as of now. We are expecting more before Saturday,” she said.
She called on everyone, Gambians and non-Gambia alike to come out and register their businesses in order to participate in the event.
Speaking on behalf of the Senegalese delegation, currently in the Country for the fair, Mr. Ngorr Trawally thanked the Gambia Chamber of Commerce for organising and inviting them every year to its annual Trade Fair.
Trawally described the move as “very important”, as it helps create business linkages between countries as well promote good relationship and interaction.
