Trust Bank Gambia Limited yesterday donated second-hand clothing, refrigerator, microwaves, electric kettles, and toiletries to the Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Hospital.
Njilan Senghore, managing director of Trust Bank, stated: “Mental health challenge is one of the most critical health problems and probably among the least understood. It affects more people and causes untold suffering to families affected. This donation not only comes with monetary values but with special love and appreciation from the Bank to the patients and the staff of Tanka Tanka.”
She commended the doctors and nurses for providing care and treatment to people with mental health challenges with compassion and dignity worthy of emulation.
She added that her bank will continue to donate and support the facility to complement government’s efforts in transforming lives of people with mental health problems in the country.
Mr Omar Bojang, departmental matron of the facility, expressed his delight in receiving these valuable items on behalf of the patients.
He thanked the bank for not just donating, but making sure the donated items are needed at the facility.
Haddy Lemon, deputy chief matron, expressed similar sentiments and thanked the bank for their kind gesture.
