U-17 SEEKS GLORY IN WAFU, AFRICA

While most people are gripped with the excitement surrounding Saturday’s big boys clash between Algeria and The Gambia in the CAN qualifiers, another very important assignment for Gambian players comes on Sunday in Dakar, and take it from me this is not child’s play.
The Under-17 side coached by Lie Bojang will be seeking a place in the 2019 African Under-17 championship from September 9 . Seven other teams are in the hunt for the two available places in the 2019 Championship to be held in Tanzania. They are host Senegal, Mali, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Cape Verde.
In order to qualify to Tanzania, The Gambia must finish as champions or runners up in this West African Football Union Wafu Zone A members in the tourney in Dakar. The Gambian team left yesterday and comprised 29 players and officials as follows:
