The case of the Wuli man who allegedly broke the glasses of a UDP vehicle has been withdrawn from the Basse Magistrate’s Court and transferred to the Inter-Party Committee for arbitration.
Karalang Jabbi, 47, of Wuli Sutukoba, was slammed with a single count of willful damage to property. He contested the charge.
At his first court appearance, police prosecutor Sub-Inspector Ceesay objected to bail for Jabbi. Presiding magistrate Omar Jabang agreed and the accused was remanded at Janjangbureh prison.
When the case was called yesterday, Jasong Kanteh, UDP security team leader and a witness in the case, told the court he received a call from his party leader Ousainu Darboe to withdraw the case from the court and transfer it to the Inter-Party Committee.
Magistrate Jabang granted the application but warned the accused to stay away from engaging in political violence.
According to the indictment, on 14th October in Sutukoba village in Wuli West, Jabbi unlawfully broke the glasses of a vehicle with a registration Number KM 4498 D valued of D50,000 belonging to the UDP.
